I visited Fergana for the first time in December 2023 for a colleague’s wedding. She got married in one of the only Catholic churches in Uzbekistan, which was located on a small property that was converted to a church. Fergana is one of the largest cities in the Fergana Valley and is known for its textiles and agricultural industry, among other things. The city is located roughly a six-hour train ride from Tashkent.
